Programs Designed Around Your Health
Beyond our regular group fitness classes, the Hanover Area YMCA offers specialty programs designed around specific health and safety needs. We’re an American Red Cross certification provider, offering courses in First Aid, CPR, and lifeguarding. We also partner with LIVESTRONG® and Parkinson’s Wellness Recovery (PWR!) to support cancer survivors and individuals living with Parkinson’s disease through specialized, small-group personal training.

LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA

LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA is a free 12-week program for adult cancer survivors. Trained YMCA Personal Trainers work with each participant as they transition from treatment to regaining their physical and emotional strength, developing individual programs in a small-group setting. The program helps participants build muscle mass and strength, increase flexibility and endurance, improve day-to-day life, prevent unwanted weight changes, and improve energy levels and self-esteem — all while developing a community of fellow survivors, YMCA staff, and members.
