Financial Assistance
The Y is for everyone, and we mean that. If cost is standing in the way, financial assistance is available — access to health, wellness, and community shouldn’t depend on your budget. Stop by or give us a call and we’ll get you taken care of.
Guest Pass Procedure
Whether you’re introducing a local friend to the Y or welcoming out-of-town family, guest passes make it easy.
Check-in and purchasing:
- All guests must check in at the front desk,
- and only current Adult Members (18+) may purchase a guest pass
- — up to two guests per day, with each guest limited to three visits per calendar year.
Guests must:
- present a valid photo ID,
- complete a Waiver of Liability,
- and will have a photo taken for their Y profile.
Guest fees are:
- $10 for an individual
- or $25 for a family.
Members are fully responsible for their guests’ actions while on Y premises, and since all Hanover Area YMCA locations are part of one Association, a visit to one location counts as a visit to all.
The Y may restrict guest usage, hours, or areas with or without notice to ensure member safety and comfort.
24/7 Access Rules & Waiver
Our 24-hour access gives eligible adult members (18+) the flexibility to fit fitness into their schedule on their own terms.
To get started:
- A background check and one-time activation fee are required,
- and access is tied to your assigned key card — it cannot be shared, even with family members on your membership.
No staff are present during unstaffed hours, so we strongly recommend:
- bringing a workout partner who also has 24-hour access;
- emergency alert necklaces are also available.
Snow and ice removal does not occur until staffed hours begin, so please use caution during that time.
Dog Park Rules & Waiver

Wellness isn’t just for people — don’t leave your four-legged friend behind.
Dogs must be:
- up to date on Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccinations,
- friendly and social around people and other dogs,
- and must wear a collar or harness at all times;
- dogs stay off-leash inside the park and on-leash everywhere else on Y property.
Members must:
- be 18 or older,
- stay inside the park while their dog is inside,
- clean up after their dog using the on-site waste stations,
- and exchange contact information with other participants in the event of an injury.
Memberships renew annually in person with updated vaccination records required at that time.
Staff aren’t present inside the park, though the Y maintains and cleans the space regularly, and reserves the right to remove any person or dog for behavior that poses a risk to others.
Inclement Weather Policy
The Hanover Area YMCA always puts the safety of our members, guests, and staff first when deciding how to respond to inclement weather.
When extreme weather poses a safety threat, we may adjust or cancel scheduled hours, programs, classes, or special events:
- If facilities close, members may still use 24/7 Access where available.
We’ll communicate any changes through:
- our website,
- our Facebook and Instagram pages,
- email via Constant Contact,
- GroupMe (for Aquatics, Gymnastics, and Group Exercise),
- and the Slack app (for Hanover Academy of Early Learning).
For classes and programs, we’ll make closure decisions:
- by 8:00 PM the night before or 4:00 AM the morning of for morning classes,
- and no later than 3:00 PM for evening classes starting at 4:00 PM or later;
- Child Watch closes whenever classes are canceled.
- Our Discovery before-and-after-school care program (serving HPSD, SWSD, CVSD, and LASD) follows individual school district delays and closures,
- and the Academy of Early Learning’s Childcare Director communicates closures directly via Slack.
- Cancellations for competitive sports (Hanover Gymnastics, Hanover Volleyball Club, Sharks Swim Club, and Stringrays Swim Club) come from each team’s Head Coach,
- while our Sports Director communicates any changes to recreational sports games, practices, or rentals.
This policy was last revised November 21, 2025.
